Sarah Taylor is an award-winning SAG-AFTRA actor and writer/performer/comedian based in Los Angeles. On stage, she has explored the profound to the profane, the sublime to the silly, intent on illuminating the frustrating and beautiful paradox of the human experience.

She was a series regular for three seasons on NBC’s IN GAYLE WE TRUST and has been on SUPERSTORE, HOT IN CLEVELAND, BUNHEADS, and numerous other TV shows and films.

Sarah’s been seen on stages all over from The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to The Volksbuhne Theatre in Berlin, and other places along the way including Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and delicious Dijon, France. She trained and performed as a singer, but soon immersed herself in rigorous actor training at both American Conservatory Theatre and Cal Arts, earning a BFA in acting.

She explored the world of avant grade theatre and performance art, traveling across Europe with shows as she moved her body, vocalized, and emoted in absurd, fantastical, and highly symbolic devised productions with acclaimed multi media artist Catherine Sullivan. She shared the stage with electric performers like Ron Athey, Jacqueline Wright, and more.

From musicals, to sketch and improv, to avant garde theatre, and now stand up comedy, Sarah is a consummate performer.

Variety calls her “stunningly good”, Backstage West says she’s “glorious”, and The Chicago Reader finds her “impressive” and “mercurial”…which might just be a nice way of saying she’s moody. Sarah has garnered a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination, was the winner of The Irene Ryan Award, and took home “Best Actress” at Chicago Indi Fest, to name a few.

As a stand up comic, Sarah has performed at all the top comedy clubs regularly appearing at The Hollywood Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, and many other venues that serve fried food and charge a two-drink minimum. She has hosted, featured and headlined over the past 13+ years she’s been in the stand up comedy world.

Sarah’s book, THE DIVINE MESS: Living As A Spiritual Seeker And Finder In A Modern, Mixed-Up World, is currently being written. Assembled with the wisdom of her years working as a spiritual guide and healing practitioner, she includes personal stories of her radical and profound inner transformation — the likes of which spiritual seekers have sought for centuries. She shares wisdom that reflects the challenges and joy to living an awake life in a modern, messy world.

Sarah went on a wild ride of non-dual awakening while navigating the comedy scene in Los Angeles. With this type of profound metamorphosis of consciousness, one’s world is turned upside down, as these deep shifts need time to integrate. She has paused performance for periods of time to focus on guiding and supporting others, and to let these monumental shifts settle. She’s been working with students and healing clients since 2009.

She has produced and performed on her monthly comedy show, COSMIC JOKE, at The Hollywood Improv Lab, given a TEDx talk on meditation, and shares the silly and deep video series TEDDY TALKS on her YouTube channel and social media.

She tours with her unique show, THE DIVINE MESS SHOW, where comedy and consciousness collide, bringing her gifts as a healing practitioner and spiritual guide together with her ability to keep her audience laughing and lightening up.
